Ten Good Walks
These are all beautiful places. Use our maps and books of routes to choose walks to suit your energy levels and time available.

Dovedale
Start from the back door, or drive up to the moors outside Buxton and find the marsh where the river gathers, and spend the day walking all the way along the river.

Lathkill Dale
If you have an eye for archaeology, you will see the mossy remains of 19th century lead mining.

Three Shires Head
Picnic by the old packhorse bridge and dip in the pools!

Hall Dale
The hillsides are covered with primroses and orchids in the early summer.

Wetton Hill and Pepper Inn
Follow the path taken by the miners as they came home from the copper mines, calling in for a pint or two. Pepper Inn is marked 'Manor House' on the OS map - note that it is now a private house.

Wildboarclough
The name is enough to make you want to explore here.

The Roaches
This impressive rock escarpment is popular with rock climbers.

Bradford Dale
Start from Middleton village. Long ago the river was turned into a series of fishponds by the Haddon Estate, and they are still full of trout and moorhens. If you walk far enough, you will reach Haddon Hall itself.

Kinder Scout
This one is a bit of a drive, but worth it to experience some of the wildest countryside in England.

Edale
The start of the Pennine Way.
